God, if you want plot reviews and the like then read the other reviews - I'm going to concentrate on what (for me) was the major interest. I like friends, even when you think it should be getting irritating it keeps you coming back because it's really, genuinely funny (it beats the hell out of this). A lot of it comes down to one Matthew Perry.
The Whole Nine Yards uses a bizarrely convoluted plot to give life to yet another drab mob comedy in the vein of Analyze This and Mickey Blue Eyes. In less time than it takes Al Capone to say tax evasion, Oz finds himself hopelessly ensnared in mafioso intrigue and murder. Positive Elements: Nothing worth writing home about. Oz steadfastly.
The R-rating applied to The Whole Nine Yards may have served as a deterrent for many family viewers but don’t expect the PG-13 rating on The Whole Ten Yards to imply it’s better. Two full uses of the sexual expletive, frank sexual comments, bare male buttocks and scenes of a woman disrobing are written into the script along with suggestions.
Movie Review. At the end of The Whole Nine Yards, professional hit man Jimmy “The Tulip” Tudeski had double-crossed a Hungarian mob family, whacked rival Yanni Gogolak and faked his own death in an attempt to return to a life of seclusion. He was assisted in the ruse by his new neighbor, Oz, the beleaguered dentist who got dragged into a cloak-and-dagger world foreign to him.
While The Whole Nine Yards is a very enjoyable movie to watch, I found it a little hard to concentrate on what was happening (as you could probably tell from the review). The commentary helped out, but not much. Still, it’s a light-hearted movie directly in the mold of the recently released “Mickey Blue Eyes”.
In this movie the plot reflect the title in the sense that a man is trying to go “the whole nine yards” in order to get away from his wife as she and her mother hate him and he is currently living a very depressed life as a dentist in. the state of Alaska. The mafia somehow end up getting involved and the man begins to fall in love with a hitman’s wife.
