Like what is up with this teacher's logic though. This physics teacher isn't the only teacher I've had like this. What, do teachers think that if they give us the answers to the homework problems, then we won't do the homework and just copy the homework? That can easily be solved by just making the homework weigh little on the overall grade.
Homework creates a bridge between school and home. Parents rarely get to spend much time with you while you're at school. Homework allows them to keep up with what you're doing in your classes on a daily basis. But you don't have homework purely for your parents' benefit. It's good for you, too! Homework can help you become a better student in.
Homework, however tedious it might be, teaches responsibility and accountability. For some classes, homework is an essential part of learning the subject matter. Homework nips procrastination in the bud. One reason teachers give homework and attach a big part of your grade to it is to motivate you to keep up. If you fall behind, you could fail.
Teachers should not be allowed to give students homework because most students have children to take care of. Most teachers should know that it is nearly impossible to do homework and watch kids at the same time. For example, as a teenager I would have to watch my younger siblings while my mother would do her school work. Even though I would be.
Holy mother of god, why do teachers give so much home work? I don't know why but it seems kind of pointless, does it not? We learn the shit in school. WE DON'T NEED OUR TIME AT HOME TAKEN AWAY TOO. Like why is work at home necessary? I mean like we already spend 6hrs a day at school. If your a teacher and you read this, please, don't be.
I think that students are receiving too much homework. It can be a useful tool, but we need quality, rather than quantity. Students also need to make some choices of their own, because if they learn about what they love, they will love to learn. It is important that we sometimes do things we don't like, but the time spent at home should be.
Homework, or a homework assignment, is a set of tasks assigned to students by their teachers to be completed outside the class. Common homework assignments may include required reading, a writing or typing project, mathematical exercises to be completed, information to be reviewed before a test, or other skills to be practiced.
Teachers who are under pressure feel the need to assign more homework. But why aren't teachers aware of the NEA homework recommendations? Many have never heard of them, have never taken a course about good versus bad homework, how much to give, and the research behind it. And many colleges of education do not offer specific training in homework.
Homework seems to be the bane of everyone’s existence, doesn’t it? Teachers hate grading it; students hate doing it, and parents hate begging their kids to do it. So why is it a thing? What good does homework do? I will admit up front that as a high school teacher I give very VERY little homework. I never had a theory grounded in research.
